Marquette Women’s Basketball Rebuilding Momentum In The Associated Press Top 25--Anonymous Eagle
I could make an argument that Marquette never deserved to lose their spot in the top 25 relative to the teams that they suffered defeats against this season. Notre Dame is ranked #5 this week after losing to Louisville, who now takes their old #2 spot. Tennessee stay steady at #6, while Michigan jump up from #23 to #19. Green Bay also saw a boost, moving from #25 to #23. That’s four of MU’s five losses on the season right there, and all four of them came away from the McGuire Center. The fifth was in the opener, on the road against New Mexico, without Amani Wilborn in the lineup. The only thing slowing Marquette’s return to the top 25 is the fact that there just aren’t any ranked teams in the Big East to help them push their way back into the poll.
