His timetable for return, or if he will return, has not been released. His players would embrace the challenge of a No. 1 ranking.

"That's exciting and it's always exciting to be ranked as the best team in college basketball," MSU senior guard Bryn Forbes said. "I think we've got a bigger goal in mind than just to be ranked number one. A national championship is what we're striving for."
Forbes said he liked the intensity displayed by MSU, which completed a five games in 10 days stretch.

"We showed some toughness and showed that we could focus over a long period of time and I think that's good," Forbes said. "I think we're moving forward and we're getting better every day."
