Louisville tests 2-3 zone in Kennesaw State win--Louisville Courier-Journal
It took Quentin Snider "a good two months" to learn Rick Pitino's trademark 2-3 matchup zone last year as a freshman at Louisville.

Damion Lee, a graduate transfer who arrived in July, said he's starting to get the hang of it. And Trey Lewis, another graduate transfer who arrived in late May, said he has at least figured out that it is a defensive scheme based on instinct.
...
For a few of the new guys, the zone is a different kind of challenge. While five of them are freshmen, Lee and Lewis have already been in college for four years and played three seasons, albeit for other programs.

Sullivan | Pitino keeps players on effective edge--South Florida Sun Sentinel
Now 8-1, ranked 19th by the Associated Press and defeated only by top-ranked Michigan State, Pitino’s Cardinals have three more scheduled tuneups before their Dec. 26 aptitude test against Kentucky. Though their schedule to date has been dangerously soft, there is a hard edge to how they are playing. If the players are prone to lose focus from time to time during lopsided games, as point guard Trey Lewis acknowledged, Pitino is not the type to allow minds to wander for long without loud direction.

"He holds us to championship standards every night," Lewis said. "He's been there. He's been doing this for 40-plus years, so sometimes where I think we're playing good, then I look at him and I see we've got to get back on defense, we've got to do these things. So it keeps me in the right mindset as a (team) captain, that we can't let up."

You play hard at Louisville, or you hear about it.
