n A trouble-free year for the Valparaiso University basketball team. Am I the only one that has noticed the parade of players that has either left the team or been involved in some illegal activity since 2006?

Starting backwards with Logan Jones, a freshman who was arrested last month for underage drinking after blowing a .023 into a breathalyzer and ending with Jimmie Miles, a guard for VU who was arrested in 2006 for transferring stolen cell phones.

In between, there was the mysterious transfer of Paul Guede, a promising prospect who never played a minute for the Crusaders, the transfer of Bryan Bouchie and the loss of Samuel Haanpaa to a professional team in Europe.

As an addendum, there was also the diastorous decision to bring in Mohamed Kone to the team for the 2005-2006 season. Kone, a 6-11 center/forward, turned out to be a terrible fit on and off the court for that team, which featured Dan?Oppland.?

It has to get better for VU in terms of finding solid recruits on and off the court, or it's going to be a rough ride in the Horizon League.

Wright St. at Butler(20)

Behind the Line: Wright State is 7-7 this season and are 1-5 on the road. However, they have covered their last 4 games against the spread albeit against lesser competition. Butler has covered 4 of their last 5 games. There is a possibility that the line could be friendly due to these occurrences.
