PFW women add transfer guard
Purdue Fort Wayne women’s basketball rounded out its six-player transfer portal class with the addition of 5-8 former Arkansas-Pine Bluff guard Tia Morgan, who has one year of eligibility left.
Over two seasons with the Golden Lions, Morgan played in 46 games, started 16 and averaged 5.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 21.2 minutes. She shot 35.1% from 3-point range this past season and scored 10 points with five assists in a Southwest Athletic Conference Tournament win over Alabama A&M.
Morgan previously played two seasons at Tyler Junior College.
“Tia brings an edge to the defensive side of the ball that we needed to bring in this offseason,” PFW coach Maria Marchesano said in a statement. “She is a true competitor willing to take on any challenge. She also brings added depth to the point guard position with her ability to handle and create for others.”
Morgan joins a transfer class that also features former Central Noble standout Sydney Freeman (Dayton), guards Lauren Ross (Michigan State) and Ella Riggs (Furman), forward Hillary Offing (Penn State-Lehigh Valley) and wing Jordan Reid (Indiana Wesleyan).
