Maybe the schedule won’t be a problem for MTSU--nashvillehoops.blog

— Nashvillehoops.blog has expressed concern multiple times about how Middle Tennessee is going to deal with its seemingly difficult schedule.

Talk about unwarranted. The Blue Raiders demolished Northern Kentucky, 74-57, at the Murphy Center Monday night. Northern had been the preseason selection to win the Horizon League but proved no match for Middle, which stormed to a 24-point halftime lead.

Great defense is the most likely road to success for this team and the Raiders held Northern to 43 percent shooting (30 in the first half) and forced 18 turnovers.  Point guard Camryn Weston was the key performer with 14 points, five assists, three steals and only one turnover.

Purdue Fort Wayne steals DePaul’s homecourt advantage, notches the upset--HoriZone Roundtable
News, Notes, and Highlighted Games: Wednesday, Nov 8th--Hoops HD

NEWS AND NOTES:

-DePaul is, once again, indescribably bad. Not that that’s a shockingly new development, but they lost 82-74 to a Purdue Fort Wayne team that isn’t expected to do much of anything in the Horizon League this year. That’s bad even by DePaul’s standards!

PFW men add Ohioan

Purdue Fort Wayne, fresh off upsetting DePaul in its season-opener Tuesday, received a letter of intent from 6-5 guard Mason Shrout out of Camden, Ohio, adding a player who averaged 23.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists last season while shooting 50.1% from the field and 39.4% from deep.

“We have built our program on gym rats that love to play and are obsessed with their player development coupled with versatile skill sets and Mason is another great fit with our program—he’s extremely versatile,” Mastodons coach Jon Coffman said in a statement. “Mason has an elite basketball IQ, can score the basketball at a high level and can really, really pass it. And most importantly, he competes on every possession. Having recruited Mason for so long, there is no doubt in my mind that he is an everyday person and really buys into what our Program is all about.”
