Robert Morris announces 2023 Athletic Hall of Fame
The 32nd class of inductees features three former players and one coach. Sal Buscaglia was the women’s basketball coach from 2003-16, April Krivoniak was a dual sport athlete in volleyball and track & field from 2013-17, Jonathan LeDonne played on the football team from 2001-04, and Debbie Sutterlin was on the women's basketball team from 1985-89.
Buscaglia inherited a program that had suffered through 14 consecutive seasons and turned them into a constant Northeast Conference Contender. He posted an overall record of 225-178 over his 13 years at the helm and is the all-time winningest coach for Robert Morris Basketball. He guided the Colonials to six postseason national tournaments, including four automatic berths into the NCAA Tournament.
Sutterlin appeared in 112 games over her career with Robert Morris. She scored 1,168 points in four seasons, with her best season coming during 1988-89. In 28 games as a senior, Sutterlin, a native of Bellevue, Pa., averaged 13.5 points. Throughout her four years with the Colonials, Robert Morris amassed 68 victories, including the 1988 ECAC Metro Conference Tournament championship.The four individuals will be inducted Friday, Dec. 1, at the UPMC Events Center, with public recognition to follow Saturday, Dec. 2, during the RMU men's basketball game against Youngstown State.
