It was an ideal opening night in the long-shot conference. The No. 6 seed Youngstown State Penguins handled business as we expected they would. Then, in a bit of a surprise, the No. 10 seed Fort Wayne Mastodons rose from the dead (and extinction) with the help of a ridiculous buzzer-beating bank triple at the end of overtime to secure a double-OT victory against, ironically, the Green Bay Phoenix. (Get it?)

Something to keep your eye on, though. These games will occur on March 2.
