Three more champions on Tuesday, and we salute them. Two are familiar NCAA names. Oakland repeated as Badlands champions, and 2010 national runners-up Butler shook off a regular season of ups and downs by reclaiming the top spot in the Horizon League. But Championship Fortnight had its first eternal highlight reel moment. Solomon Bozeman of Arkansas-Little Rock hit a game-winning three-pointer to lead the Trojans back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1990.

Decisive Run Sends Bulldogs To NCAA Tournament - Butler University broke open a close game with a late 16-1 run in claiming a 59-44 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship Final Tuesday night at the U.S. Cellular Arena. The Panthers (19-13) overcame a slow start and used a scoring run of their own to get back in it, only to see the Bulldogs (23-9) take control down the stretch and advance to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth year in a row. ... via Milwaukee

They were good too:

- Butler Bulldogs

The bulldogs had been written off by most of the country after a mediocre non-conference record and a uncharacteristic three game conference losing streak. But like they have done in season past, the Bulldogs plowed the the Horizon League tournament and are once again back in the NCAA tournament. Butler lost both their regular season games against UW-Milwaukee, but were able to beat the Panthers when it truly mattered. The Bulldogs only trailed once, and except for a five minute scoring drought in the second half, were in complete control of the game. Matt Howard led the way with 18 points and Shelvin Mack chipped in with 14 points.

As Seth Emerson reminded us, it was for the benefit of teams on the bubble for the Butler Bulldogs to win the Horizon League finals and the Marquette Golden Eagles to lose in the first round of the Big East tournament. Fans of the Georgia Bulldogs got 50 per cent of what they wanted in last night’s roundball action, as Butler beat the Wis.-Milwaukee Panthers, but Marquette advanced to meet the West Virginia Mountaineers on ESPN at 9:00 tonight.

The Jazz then took the court against Toronto (17-47) without injured starters Paul Millsap and Andrei Kirilenko, while five Utah players spent the game sitting on the bench in dress clothes. Rookie Jeremy Evans made his first career start replacing Millsap; recent NBA Development League call-up Marcus Cousin saw action; and the Jazz ran three rookies — Evans, Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors — on the court at once.
