Starting 5: Indiana college basketball's potential breakout players in 2022-231--Indy Star

IUPUI

IUPUI Jaguars guard Boston Stanton III (25) reaches for a lay-up against Butler Bulldogs guard Jayden Taylor (13) on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021 at Hinkle Fieldhouse, in Indianapolis. The Butler Bulldogs defeated the IUPUI Jaguars, 56-47.

Boston Stanton III was one of the few healthy players left after injuries and transfers decimated IUPUI’s roster last season. As a true freshman, Stanton started 19 of 28 games and logged heavy minutes in the final stretch of the season. Armed with a full roster of players, the 6-5 guard can move off the ball, and showcase his shooting and scoring ability. — Akeem Glaspie, IndyStar

Deonte Billups won the Horizon League Sixth Man of the Year award last season, and was fourth in the conference with 2.1 3-pointers per game. He averaged 9 points per game, providing a frequent spark off the bench. He started 18 games last season, and could see that number increase. —  Matthew VanTryon, IndyStar

Starting 5: Indiana college basketball's top newcomers to watch in 2022-23--Indy Star

IUPUI

Freshman guard Amhad Jarrard is a name to remember for the future and freshman DJ Jackson comes from national powerhouse Montverde (Fla.) Academy, but San Diego transfer Bryce Monroe should be IUPUI’s top newcomer. Monroe was the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year at Sam Houston State, averaging 10 points per game before transferring to San Diego. Monroe, a 5-11 junior has great quickness, is a career 34% shooter from 3, and has the experience to run a team from the point guard position. — Akeem Glaspie, IndyStar

Purdue Fort Wayne

Deangelo Elisee is a 6-9 junior college transfer from Triton College, where he averaged 9.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4 blocks last season. He shot 67% from the floor and had a 27-point game with eight rebounds and six blocks. —  Matthew VanTryon, IndyStar

Ranking the Top 100 And 1 best college basketball players entering the 2022-23 season--CBS Sports

62. Antoine Davis | Detroit | Super Senior

Of course one of the most prolific scorers in college history is going to make our list in his final season. Through 111 games, Davis is at 24.6 points, 13th-highest average in men's D-I history. He's scored 2,734 points, which sits 22nd all time -- but he'll quickly hop up that list as the season moves along. If Davis is going to make history in his bonus season (which all players can get because of COVID), he'll need to average a career-best 27.5 points and play 34 games in order to surpass Pete Maravich's record of 3,667. Maravich did it in three seasons and without a 3-point line. -- MN
