Jack Gohlke
Back then: Only a year removed from playing Division III ball, Gohlke led No. 14 seed Oakland to a shocking 80-76 win over No. 3 seed Kentucky in the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament, scoring a season-high 32 points while making 10 of his 20 3s.
Now: Gohlke has been playing professionally since leaving Oakland and is currently in his first season with the Texas Legends, the G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks.

Joe Starkey’s Cup of Joe: Pitt, Duquesne, RMU fight back, inject a little life into hoops scene--Tribune-Review
Robert Morris, a year after making the NCAA Tournament, had a 3-5 conference start, and, way worse, had a former player embroiled in a gambling scandal.
Well, now look. The Colonials have won eight in a row under Andy Toole, including another first-round home win the Horizon League Tournament before a raucous crowd at UPMC Events Center.
I was there last Wednesday, and it was flat-out fun. It’s a tiny venue, which helps create a ton of noise. Long-time Pittsburgh Steelers GM Kevin Colbert helps. He enthusiastically cheers from the front row.
Now it’s off to Indianapolis for the Colonials, who have already beaten Monday’s second-round opponent, Detroit Mercy, twice this season. They have a real chance to dance again.

Question of the week
Can Andy Toole do it again?
Robert Morris men’s basketball faces Detroit Mercy on Monday evening in the semifinals of the Horizon League tournament. It’s a totally new squad compared to last year’s group — which of course advanced to the NCAA tournament — but the Colonials are once again right on the doorstep. They represent Pittsburgh’s best chance at having some representation in March Madness. A win sends them to Tuesday’s tournament final, a game that comes with an automatic bid to the Big Dance.
