WICHITA, Kan. — Malcolm Armstead had 20 points and six assists as Wichita State recorded its highest point total of the season, beating Detroit, 94-79, in a BracketBusters game today.

Cleanthony Early and Carl Hall added 18 points apiece, and Demetric Williams scored 14 for the Shockers (24-5), who shot 55% from the field.

Ray McCallum scored 29 points, Nick Minnerath had 25 and Doug Anderson 11 for Detroit (18-10). The Titans shot 45% from the field but made just 7 of 16 free throws.

Wichita State led by 11 at halftime before Detroit cut the deficit to 63-62 with 12:39 remaining. The Shockers then closed the game with a 31-17 run, including eight straight free throws down the stretch.
